If you need to buy anything to get by, there’s a small village shop next to the Buceo Norte diving center. At the upper part of the village, you’ll find a pharmacy, several bars, a prepared food shop, and a small supermarket called Spar, which can also come in handy. However, my advice is to go shopping about 6 km away, where you’ll find several supermarket chains, all close to each other, including Mercadona, Lidl, and Hiperdino. You’ll find everything you need there at better prices.
There’s the «La Cueva» restaurant on the beach avenue, a burger joint called Invítame (open Thursday to Sunday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM), and near the first pier, you can enjoy a drink at the terrace of El Antojo Café. At the second pier, you’ll find the El Ancla restaurant.

There are many things to do in the area, but our favorite—without a doubt—and also FREE is: sitting on a bench along Sardina’s beach promenade and watching its incredible sunset with views of Mount Teide! Alternatively, you could enjoy the same from the terrace of the burger joint Invítame, sipping on a beer for just €1 (be sure to ask for a quinto to get the €1 price). But there’s so much more!
We recommend taking a swim at the small beach just 200 meters from the apartment, exploring the coastline, and admiring its beautiful beaches and natural pools, such as Bocabarranco, Dos Roques, and La Furnia. Of course, a visit to the Cueva Pintada Museum and Archaeological Park is a must, where you can discover one of the most unique archaeological sites in the Canary Islands (here’s their website: www.cuevapintada.com/es). Don’t miss a stroll through the cobblestone streets of Gáldar’s town center beforehand.
One activity I’d definitely include in your plans is an excursion to Agaete, with a mandatory stop for wine enthusiasts: the Bodega Los Berrazales (website: https://bodegalosbezarrales.com/). This estate, over 200 years old, offers insight into the entire coffee and wine production process, along with a tasting of various wines, cheese, and marmalades. The price is €12 for adults and €6 for children, with the experience lasting about an hour to an hour and a half. Reservations aren’t necessary unless you’re a group of more than ten people. An important note: tours are available in both Spanish and English, as is their website.
